I don’t have to tell you that health care reform is at a critical juncture. As you know, the Senate HELP Committee included the Community Living and Supportive Services Act (CLASS) Act in their health reform legislation. This decision affirms their commitment to the millions of people who need and provide long-term services and supports.
But that’s just one part of our Congress. Now, it’s up to the House to incorporate the CLASS Act into their health reform legislation. Members of the House Ways and Means, Energy and Commerce and Education and Labor Committees play a pivotal role in making this happen. That’s why we’re asking our members whose representative serve on these committees to contact their legislators today.
Please make a toll-free call to 1-866-459-2036 and urge your representative to include the CLASS Act in the House’s health care reform bill. The lines will be open from 9 a.m. and 6 p.m Eastern Time. There’s a sample script you can use at the end of the post.
Not sure if your member of Congress serves on these committees? Use our Contact Congress system to find out if their committee membership matters on this important issue. Whatever the case, please send them an e-mail urging them to help us make it affordable care.

Hello. I am calling to urge the representative to ensure that the CLASS Act for long-term services and supports is included in the House’s version of health care reform legislation. This legislation will create an insurance program to help people pay for the long-term services and supports they need without contributing to the federal deficit. Can you tell me the Congressman’s position on this?
