Later today, AAHSA President and CEO Larry Minnix will present Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wisc.) with an AAHSA Chair Citation for his commitment to public policies that promote the aging services field.
After the presentation, AAHSA members will visit with legislators to urge the inclusion of long-term services and supports in health care reform.
While the Hill visits are an annual event linked with our Future of Aging Services Conference, this year’s meetings are shaping up to be some of the most significant for our field.
On the docket are meetings with Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), Sen. John Rockefeller (D-W.V.), Rep. Scott Garrett (R-N.J.), House Financial Services Committee, Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.), and Rep. Allen Boyd (D-Fla.), head of the Rural Caucus.
We’ll have more once we return from our visits.
